Maya Tsur is a physicist and interdisciplinary writer and artist working at the intersection of science, art, ecology, and philosophy. She is currently pursuing a PhD in physics at Tel Aviv University, where her research focuses on cosmology and theoretical physics, exploring connections between the smallest and largest scales of the universe. Alongside her academic work, she is deeply engaged in building bridges between physics, biology, and ecological thinking.
Maya has lived and volunteered in ecological communities and has spent time in art centers and scientific research institutes in different countries. These experiences shape her ongoing interest in interconnection—between disciplines, forms of knowledge, and ways of living.
Parallel to her scientific practice, she develops an artistic and literary body of work that includes poetic and philosophical writing, photography, and painting. Her primary mode of expression is reflective writing that draws on scientific ideas as narrative structures rather than explanatory tools. She is also involved in hybrid art–science projects and alternative educational initiatives.
Maya understands contemporary life as deeply fragmented, often separating analytical reasoning from humanistic and ethical inquiry. Through the meeting of science and art, she seeks to reimagine wholeness—where curiosity, responsibility, care for the living world, and the search for meaning can coexist.
