Kelly Eckel

Kelly Eckel was born in Long Island, New York. and currently lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She received an Associate Degree in photography from Palomar College in California and has a BFA and a Masters in Art Education from the University of New Mexico. Eckel has been active in the arts since 1991 and has created several bodies of work using her photography, drawing, and printmaking skills. She has worked and/or volunteered her time and numerous organizations over the past twenty years. She has worked as a teacher’s assistant at the International Center for Photography, as an assistant editor for SITE Santa Fe’s Fifth International Biennial catalog, and as a visiting artist for Materials for the Arts and Socrates Sculpture Park.

Her work was published in View Camera, she was a Key Holder at the Lower East Side Print Shop, awarded money for Public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, gave a Salon presentation at Photo Eye, and received a stipend for an artist residency in Spain. She currently works as an art educator in public schools.
