Genevieve DeGuzman writes speculative fiction and poetry, often stories that mix the dark veins of psychological realism with the surreal, fabulist, and fantastical. She co-founded Night Owls Press and works as a book editor and freelance editor in Portland, Oregon. Before that, she worked in international development and economics research, taking her from New York to Manila and Tokyo. Genevieve graduated with dual degrees in English and economics from Columbia University and is continually learning the craft with coursework at the University of Iowa International Writing Program. She has received grants from the Tokyo Foundation and the J. Paul Getty Research Institute. At Can Serrat, she will be working on a novel.
