
Carlota Blasco Aguirre (Barcelona, 1975) holds a PhD in Art and Education from the University of Girona (Spain). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sculpture from the University of Barcelona (1999) and a Bachelor’s degree in Restoration and Conservation of Cultural Heritage from the University of Seville (2001). She also has a Master’s degree in Conservation and Restoration (University of Seville, 2005) and another in Visual Arts and Landscape (University of Western Macedonia, 2021). She has worked for 23 years in the field of archaeological restoration. Since 2012, she has been organizing and teaching educational programs in the field of the arts at foundations, institutes and public schools in Greece. She has worked on the EXPLO ERC research project at the Neolithic site of Dispilio (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). She is an interdisciplinary artist, sculptor and ceramist who combines art, science and society in her work. With experience in collaborative projects, especially in archaeology, she integrates traditional and digital techniques to promote artistic innovation. A social and ecological activist, she has been leading the Habitat Project for four years, an a/r/tographic initiative that brings together art, science and education to foster an empathetic and creative relationship with the natural environment, promoting social participation and the use of contemporary and ecological practices in art. This social and educational network promotes a resilient and sustainable relationship with the natural environment, strengthening community participation and the use of contemporary and ecological practices in art.
