Valeria Ramirez Duran

Valeria Ramírez Durán is a philosopher and writer concerned with modes of relation-existence with rivers. Over the past few years, she has researched alongside the Bogotá River what it means to exist and be transformed with it. Rather than an object, the river appears in her work as a subject: not only something to be thought about, but a transformative force that makes her think and feel the medium through which she writes.

In her practice, words are not abstract, but material drawings that accompany the flow, friction, and viscosity of thought and feeling. Through this process, she reimagines words and letters as sensitive cartographies of water.

Valeria Ramírez Durán is in residence at Can Serrat in January 2026.
