Uli Puaj is interested in approaching sound composition as a response to a process of listening that, rather than seeking control, aims to learn how to react. In her current work with sound, this means embracing Larsen feedback, microphone handling noise, and other forms of “interference.” Rather than composing pieces, she seeks to create situations that allow us to engage with what cannot be controlled.
She understands sound as the manifestation of a system of relationships and explores the use of technology — particularly computers and programming — as a tool for reconnecting with materiality and questioning what reality is.
Uli Puaj is in residence at Can Serrat during the summer of 2026.
