Jake Shepherd

 

Jake is interested in arts ability to activate social change. He works with children and young people, using creativity as a vehicle to engage them in social issues. Through his role with Children’s Parliament* he works on projects co-produced with children using a rights-based approach supporting them to influence national legislation, policy, and practice within the Scottish Government, local authorities, and other public bodies. In another role Jake is a Creative Practitioner in the Peacock Visual Arts education & communities team working with care experienced young people and LGBTQ+ youth, supporting their well-being through creativity with a person-led approach, co-creating an arts program, activity packs for local food banks, and developing a community garden.

 

Jake makes his residence at Can Serrat during the months of May – June 2023.
