Fabián Mauricio Martínez G.

Fabián Mauricio Martínez G. is a Colombian writer and journalist. He is the author of Cuentos de lo raro (2024), El encanto podrido de Bogotá (2021), El sexo de las salamandras (2015), Cuervos en la ventana (2013), Una ciudad llamada Bucaranada (2010), and Me llamo José Antonio Galán (2010).

In 2023, he was selected for a writing residency at Can Serrat in El Bruc, Catalonia. In 2020, he received the UIS National Short Story Book Award and the City of Bogotá Chronicle Award. In 2017, he was selected by the Fundación Gabo as a recipient of the Gabriel García Márquez Cultural Journalism Fellowship, and in 2015 he received the Santander Government Novel Award. In 2012, he won the Cundinamarca Government Short Story Award and, in 2008, the RCN-MEN National Short Story Award.

He holds a master’s degree in Journalism from Universidad de Los Andes and a degree in Spanish and Literature from UIS. He also teaches in the Master’s Programme in Literary Creation at Universidad Central.

Fabián Mauricio Martínez G. returns to Can Serrat for a residency in September 2026.
