Elizabeth Lopez

Elizabeth Lopez is a Canadian interdisciplinary artist, born in Montreal and currently based in and around Toronto. Her work reflects on our interconnectedness with one another—locally and globally, human and non-human, animate and inanimate. She often employs participatory and playful approaches that activate the body and the situated knowledge created there, resulting in durational experiences. The person activates the artwork, which in turn activates the person; each multi-sensory experience is a distinct occurrence. Along the way, her work invites reflection on our presence and the traces we leave behind.

She earned her Interdisciplinary Master of Art, Media and Design (MFA) at OCAD University in Toronto. Her work has been exhibited in Canada and the United States and is held in private collections. She is an active member of the Canadian Society of Contemporary Iron Arts (CSCIA).

Elizabeth Lopez is in residence at Can Serrat in January 2026.
