Ayala Meidan is an illustrator and artist who explores themes that lie between the personal and the political, and the connections that link them. Ayala’s background, which includes experience in social work, profoundly shapes the subjects she addresses. Through her work in various techniques, including illustration, text writing, live drawing performances, and social and political activism, she deconstructs issues of identity, conflict, and the search for compassion and human connection. Ayala works as a freelance illustrator for both adult and children’s media, showcasing her work in illustration exhibitions and engaging in other creative projects. Her art seeks to evoke empathy and encourage viewers to consider the world from different perspectives.
Ayala will be in residence at Can Serrat in June 2025.
