Within the framework of this jury, many applications were received from creators all over the world and a large number of them were of impressive quality. The jury very much enjoyed all the projects that were submitted and it has once again been challenging to make a selection. After spending hours debating, we selected 20 proposals to integrate the residency program (2 full invitations and 20 partial invitations). The jury took good care to extend invitations to projects that would be specifically relevant to the context of Can Serrat.
Jury:
- Helle Kaarem is a Norwegian painter who lives and works in Oslo. Through painting, she explores the relationship between perception, emotion, and experience, working with the fundamental elements of pictorial language: color, form, matter, and illusion.
- Ely Daou is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice explores the human condition and the experience of persistence. Through long-term processes, repetitive actions, and self-imposed systems, his work engages with contradiction, absurdity, and uncertainty, resisting fixed meanings and leaving space for ambiguity.
- Sophie Blais, director of Can Serrat (non-voting voice)
- Sarah Goodchild Robb, residency support coordinator at Can Serrat (non-voting voice)

We know that it is very difficult to create care spaces within a call, but we want to thank, with all our hearts, all the people who have sent us their proposals. It has been a pleasure to read them, get into their practices, and get in touch with them.
