Hildegard Hansen is based in Providence, Rhode Island. She received her MFA in Literary Arts from Brown University and has taught at Brown and at the Rhode Island School of Design.
Her work treats place, or atmosphere, as its fundamental element, mapping patterns of spatial, emotional, temporal, and spiritual connection/disconnection between the landscape and the figures within it. It involves intimacy with the unknown, the mysterious, the numinous—through the mountain, the ocean, the stone.
Hildegard will be in residence during September 2025.
