Randa Megahed

Randa Megahed is a sound and visual artist based between Paris and Cairo.

Her practice spans installation, performance, video, image and sound sculpture. She explores notions of residue, obsolescence, technological fragility and memory through degraded images, family archives, repurposed electronic objects and unstable sound devices. Her research examines the poetic and political potential of the residual. She is currently developing a body of work focused on the ways in which sound and image disappear.

She holds a Master’s degree in Musical Creation and Sound Arts from Université Gustave Eiffel and INA GRM, a Master’s degree in Art from the École Supérieure d’Art de Tourcoing (ESÄ), a Bachelor’s degree in Media Design, Applied Sciences and Arts from the German University in Cairo, and a teaching diploma (CFPI).

Her work has been presented at Savvy Contemporary in Berlin, Les Instants Vidéo in Marseille, MUBA in Tourcoing, and Medrar for Contemporary Art in Cairo, where she participated in the Roznama 7 Prize. In 2022, she presented the sound performance Revolutions as part of the exhibition Sharawadji at Studio GMLR. In 2024, she performed an acousmatic piece using an acousmonium as part of the Master’s programme in Musical Creation and Sound Arts at Université Gustave Eiffel and INA GRM.

During September and October 2026, she is undertaking an artistic residency at Can Serrat.
