I work with contemporary myth, rituals, vernacular, nomadic phenomena and trends. I observe how tradition is passed on and how its bugs gain autonomy along the way. I create tools to navigate with. I provoke their activation. My tools get corrupted by the site where they appear and influenced by improvisation, coincidence and time. I create a context for my journey to take place; a garden, a pop up store, an infirmary, a book, … There are confrontations with an audience, they are invited to travel along. My work wants the audience to interact with it, to acknowledge that it’s embedded in their world. It hints at a lifestyle that encompasses, precedes and surpasses the moment. Lifestyle as art enables open scripts.
