Pilar Lucía Martínez Dejean

Lu Martínez was born in Lanús, Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1987. She studied Literature, Screenwriting, and Documentary Journalism.

She is a screenwriter for film, TV, and platforms, as well as a poet and narrator. Lu collaborates as a cultural journalist in print media.

She has published poetry books such as “Prodigios,” “Deseos de amor a Iemanjá,” and “Mis mejores amigas.” Lu has premiered documentary films at international festivals, participating as a screenwriter in works like “Puerto Deseado” and “Margarita no es una flor,” among others. She was a resident fellow in programs at the Haroldo Conti Cultural Memory Center and Archives and Activations.

Currently, Lu is working on her non-fiction novel-diary titled “Los diarios de la Mala Suerte,” which has already received recognition from the National Fund for the Arts and the Metropolitan Fund for Culture, the Arts, and Science for its development.

Lu is in residence at Can Serrat during the months of January and February 2024.
