SOPHIE BLAIS
Director
Sophie Blais – has a Bachelors in Fine Art, a Profesional Masters degree in Mediation and Art Project Coordination and Master degree in photography and cinema investigation, both from the University Louis Lumière (Lyon, France), she also studied photography at ICART PHOTO (Paris). After graduation she worked for RIP_2010, an International photography Festival in Arles (France), Nicephore Nièpce Museum (Chalon sur Saône, France)_DAZIBAO project, and LUX National Scene (Valence, France). Until, 2011, she collaborated as a photographer/journalist with LyonPlus/Le Progrès and Le tout Lyon. From 2012 to 2014, she was responsible for public actions and events for the art center LE CREUX DE L’ENFER (Thiers, France), at the same time she was member of the “B.O collectif”(artists studio) in Clermont-Ferrand – At the beginning of 2014, she took time to reflect, bought a van and transforming it into a pinhole camera, she took Filo, her dog, and left for two months in Spain, making experiments, while sleeping and waking every morning inside the camera; finding a natural end to her trip in Catalunya, under Montserrat.
She is now working as the Director of the art residence, CAN SERRAT. Where she is, amongst other duties, inviting selected artists and writers to work on their own investigation in context of contemporary creation; organising concerts, performances, and theatre; and developing an arts education program.

 

GEORGINA TEIXIDOR
In charge of maintenance
Born in the Costa Brava – animal and nature lover.
Georgina is in charge of the maintenance and logistic of the house, keeping order to offer a nice environment to residents.

 

DANIEL MORENO
Artistic coordinator / In charge of communication
Daniel Moreno Roldán (Barcelona, 1990) is an artist and musician graduated in Fine Arts at the Universitat de Barcelona. He has shown some of his projects at De Profundis (Hangar, Barcelona), Ella: allà i després (Blueproject Foundation, Barcelona), Gran Angular (Fabra i Coats), Aparteu les cadires (Can Felipa, Barcelona), Pica i Fuig (Fundacio Joan Miró) and 32441 colors de més (artscoming.com).
He has been awarded with the grants Arts Visuals /UNZIP 2015, Can Felipa Arts Visuals 2014, Sant Andreu Contemporani – Programa de residències, Artes Visuales 2014 de Sala d’Art Jove and the ARGÓ prize at the UAB. He has also been an artist in residence at Nau Estruch (Sabadell), Fabra I Coats (Barcelona) and Hangar (Barcelona). He’s currently working as an artist coordinator at Can Serrat Art Residency at El Bruc (Spain).

 

SARAH GOODCHILD ROBB
Administration / collaboration with New-York

Sarah Goodchild Robb (USA) is an interdisciplinary visual artist and art organizer currently based in Barcelona.  She works abstractly and through woodworking, photography, and drawing she references the body in relation to natural forms and built environments.  She received her MFA from The City College of New York, CUNY (2014) and her BA in Art History and French from Bard College at Simon’s Rock (2006).  She was the AIR at  Art4Life in Portland, OR (2011-2012), and completed residencies at Picture Berlin in Berlin, Germany (2013) and at Can Serrat in El Bruc, Barcelona (2015 and 2016).  Her work has been shown in the United States and Germany.  In October 2015, she curated Fragments of Space at academic, a gallery based in Long Island City, NYC.

This August at Can Serrat, she is working on a series of drawings, paintings and prints that investigate the surrounding natural environment of Monserrat National Park.  She is also assisting the residency with artistic coordination by preparing orientation materials, translating and editing texts from Spanish to English, and conducting tours to new residents.
