Madison Kurchik

Maddie is a PhD student at the University of Edinburgh Business School. Her research interests include intersectionality, gender and work, recruitment, company culture, and toxic techno-cultures. She is keen to explore ways of communicating and writing outside of normative academic practices. She believes that the restrictiveness of academic writing has created a monolith, “the academic voice”, rather than a community of diverse human voices. She is particularly influenced by ideas like cyborg writing which encourage writing from the body within academic texts. In her work she attempts to creatively disrupt standard academic writing conventions by intertwining types of narratives and types of content.
