Christina Schultz

Christina Schultz (1972) is a transdisciplinary artist, oral performer, and linguistic nomad. She learned Spanish from a Formentera family, Catalan from her friends from Barcelona and Maghreb in a short but intense marriage in Morocco. She has good and bad memories in German of her hometown, Munich. She is a self-taught artist and alumni of the MACBA Independent Studies Program (PEI) (2017/2018 edition). Her extensive collaborative projects are based on her autobiography and include the research process as part of the desired outcome. She works with performative, cinematographic, musical and graphic elements to build political-artistic encounters. The construction of the continuity of her projects is based on the integration of errors as an opportunity, recognizing the unknown as a source of surprise and finding beauty in clumsiness.

The research project she is coming to keep working on at Can Serrat, ‘Metzineres, dones entre verins i remeis’ is a collaborative study in l’espai “Metzineres, aixopluc for gifts that start drugs and have seen violence” (hereinafter “MADDSV”) in the Raval neighborhood of Barcelona on feminine spirituality, els sabers col.lectius de cures poètiques i brujils del cos i la ment i les medicinal plants i les politiques de drogues.
