Sarah Noonan

Sarah Noonan (She/They b.1997) is from Prince Edward Island, Canada, and is a multidisciplinary artist and writer based in Tallinn, Estonia. The innocent appearance and unrefined hand-sewing of her own clothes as material often collides with her transgressive voice that raises haunting perspectives on what is sentimental, unstable, and sensitive. Through sculpture installation using textile, painting, video, drawing, and printmaking, they explore psychological and emotional states through fantasy from a position that is poetic, oneiric, and non-gender specific. Their works’ alternative approach to mysticism, playfulness, and obscure environments are charged with uncanny and expressive candour. She considers our world today by investigating with an idiosyncratic viewpoint, what connects co-existing worlds.
She has written two books of poetry called Ghost Hummingbird and I Against The Flail Of The Flock Run, as well as other printed and digital versions of short texts of poetry and fiction. They received a Master of Contemporary Art degree from the Estonian Academy of Arts (2024) and a Bachelor of Fine Art from Mount Allison University (2019).

Sarah is doing her residency at Can Serrat during May 2025.
