Laura García was born in 1987. She studied Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Buenos Aires and Literary and Technical Scientific Translation at the Instituto Superior en Lenguas Vivas “Juan Ramón Fernández”. She works mainly as a translator; she has published Tres Guineas, by Virginia Woolf, in Godot publishing house. Currently in press is Tetas, by Florence Williams (Godot), and Corriendo al vacío, by John Zerzan (Walden). She has attended poetry translation workshops with Laura Wittner and Alejandro Crotto. She is part of the translation collective Territorio de Ideas, which works particularly with themes such as environmentalism, food sovereignty, and feminism. She co-directs the bookstore and cultural space Club Hidalgo Libros. In poetry, she published the plaquette Obsidiana (2018), under the name Lala Granada, and participated in the publication Trino #1, under the name Ele García. She practices kung fu and tai chi with devotion.
Laura makes her residency at Can Serrat during the months of May – June 2023.
