Hernán Agustín Lewkowicz

 

Hernán Lewkowicz is an actor, playwright, theatre director, and teacher. He was born in Buenos Aires and holds Argentine and Polish nationalities. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Acting from the National University of the Arts (UNA) and graduated in Playwriting from the Metropolitan School of Dramatic Arts (EMAD).

He has worked in numerous productions, alternating roles in both independent theatre and major public institutions such as the National Cervantes Theatre, the Buenos Aires Theatre Complex, and the Experimental Centre of the Colón Theatre, among others.

Todo lo que nombro desaparece (Everything I Name Disappears), his most recent work as author, performer, and co-director, premiered in Buenos Aires in 2023, toured Spain and Chile, and was published by Editorial El Zócalo. For this work, he received a Creation Grant from the National Arts Fund, the Argentores Award for Best Solo Playwriting, and a nomination for Best Solo Performance at the María Guerrero Awards.

He teaches at the Department of Dramatic Arts at UNA, the Performing Arts Degree at UADE, and the Acting and Theatre Education programs at EMAD. He also leads group workshops in playwriting, as well as tutoring and project supervision.

Hernán Lewkowicz will be in residence at Can Serrat in October 2025.
