María Inés Kreplak

 

Inés Kreplak (Buenos Aires, 1987) holds a degree in Literature and a Master’s degree in Human Rights for Latin America and the Caribbean. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Latin American Literature and Cultural Criticism. Her research focuses on how crimes against feminized bodies in Argentine literature have changed with the existence of femicide laws and the widespread awareness brought by the Ni Una Menos movement, among other issues. She is the author of the poetry books La ilusión de la larga noche (2019, 2021, and 2022) and Otras pieles (2022), the novel Confluencia (2017), and the short story collection Mirar al Sol (2021). Additionally, she has participated in numerous anthologies and written for various media outlets. She was selected by the Biennial of Young Art and the British Council Colombia to participate in Elipsis 2020 and the Hay Festival Cartagena as a young editor. She is the creator of the contemporary narrative collection Leer es futuro, the first Biblioteca al Paso (Walk-Up Library) in Argentina, and the podcast Mostras: maestras de la poesía argentina. She teaches writing workshops.

Inés will be in residence at Can Serrat in September-October 2024.
