The Can Serrat Social Garden project is based on the dialogue between art, nature and community mediation. The objective is the exchange of popular knowledge, learning and activities related to farming and horticulture to deal with the emotional crisis of human groups at risk of exclusion.
It is from the care of the land, seeds, plants and trees that we seek to reflect on the emotional care, mainly of migrated and racialized people. The artistic language of the residents of Can Serrat and their disciplines help promote a space for creation and collaborative work, ethically committed to nature and society.
The social garden is an open and movement-free collective space, it is activated every Sunday (from 11am to 4pm) with the participation of all people who want to spend some time outside the city to learn and share knowledge. Every Sunday specific activities are proposed (published on social networks and whatsapp distribution list *)
Also if you are part of a collective and wish to come as a group to participate in specific activities prior notice to the contact: canserratjardisocial@gmail.
The Social Garden is a project by Carolina Goyzueta –
Carolina was born in Peru. She is an anthropologist specializing in childhood, education and gender issues. For some years now she has focused her research on horticultural issues. She firmly believes that caring for life is a radically political act in times of such harshness and confinement. Today her research and action is based on ethnographic methodologies. She lives between the mountain and the sea.
