“READERS” __ CALL RESULT __ SUMMER 2019/2020

posted in: All, Call Results | 0

Within the framework of this jury, many applications were received from writers all over the world and a large number of them were of impressive quality. The READERS* call was unseen before as it is the result of a new collaboration between Can Serrat and stART.

* In reference to a 1988 interview in France Culture with Roland Barthes __ questioning the relationship / separation between the writer and reader. __ (The interview coincides with the publication of ‘The Theory of Writing’ by Barthes.). The word ‘readers’ here refers to the focus of the residencies towards the process of writing.

Regarding the content of projects, the jury DID NOT ask for proposals specifically designed for and tailored to the residencies. That being said, we valued recent work that is related to rurality, ecology, local culture, and communities, as these are themes that both stART and CAN SERRAT share in common.

At the end of 2020, after the residencies have been completed, a publication will be made in connection with the writing produced at both stART and at CAN SERRAT.

Within the framework of this call all selected participants are invited to Can Serrat and stART. (dates of residency and conditions are according to each space, please read all the details in the invitation letter)

The composition of the jury:

  • Clara Gari __ naucoclea.com
  • Guido Anderloni __ stART
