I am a Nigerien writer and patient rights advocate currently based in Dakar, Senegal. My work explores resilience, spirituality, and the human capacity to rebuild after pain. Since 2017, I have published nine books in Paris, each one reflecting my conviction that writing can heal, connect, and give voice to those who are often unheard.

My journey as a cancer survivor profoundly shaped my relationship with life and with words. Through my literary and humanitarian work, I try to transform this personal experience into a space for dialogue, empathy, and advocacy. I am also the president of a non-governmental organization dedicated to the fight against cancer in Africa, where I work to raise awareness and strengthen patient support.

My current project, ”Le souffle d’un cancer noir” (The Breath of a Black Cancer), is a poetic and testimonial book that mixes personal narrative, collective voices, and reflection on illness in African contexts. Writing this story is both an intimate and social act: it is my way of continuing the fight, not only for myself but for all those whose voices remain silent.

At Can Serrat, I hope to complete the structure of this book and to live a time of peace, reflection, and creative dialogue — a space where words and nature breathe together.
