Didem Erbas

 

Didem Erbaş is an Istanbul-based artist whose practice addresses sociopolitical issues in Turkey, focusing on geography, housing, spatial transformation, and the human impact on nature. She investigates intersections of architecture, war strategies, drones, and the micro-worlds of terrestrial creatures, reflecting on destruction and shifting perspectives.

She holds a BA in Painting from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and an MA in Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design from Sabancı University. She has exhibited widely in Turkey and internationally, including in London, Paris, Berlin, and New York.

Her residencies include Cité Internationale des Arts (supported by IKSV), Delfina Foundation (supported by SAHA), and the School of Visual Arts in New York (supported by the Turkish-American Society). She is currently pursuing a Proficiency in Art (practice-based PhD) at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.
