CALL RESULT__Spring-Summer 2027__WRITERS

Within the framework of this jury, many applications were received from creators all over the world and a large number of them were of impressive quality. The jury very much enjoyed all the projects that were submitted and it has once again been challenging to make a selection. After spending hours debating, we selected 34 proposals to integrate the residency program (2 full invitations and 32 partial invitations). The jury took good care to extend invitations to projects that would be specifically relevant to the context of Can Serrat.

Jury:

Karen Byk (Buenos Aires, 1993) holds a degree in History from UTDT and a Master’s in Social and Economic Communication from UdK. She has published the poetry collections Hice una fiesta y ahora quiero echarlos (Valparaíso Ediciones, 2024) and Tocarle los huesos al bosque (Siesta Verlag, 2022), as well as fanzines and contributions to literary anthologies and magazines, with translations into English and German. As a translator, she published Flores de Vidrio (Milena Caserola, 2024), a collection of poems by Debora Vogel, and received a full grant from Can Serrat Residency to complete in 2025 her translation of A Responsibility to Awe, a collection of poems by Rebecca Elson.
Hans Laguna is a sociologist and musician. These two facets intersect in his writing, as shown in the essay Hey! Julio Iglesias y la conquista de América (Contra), which he later adapted into a podcast for RTVE, as well as in his articles for media outlets such as elDiario.es, El Salto, and CTXT. His latest book is Yo siendo yo. El teatro de la autenticidad en las estrellas del pop (Anagrama).
