Aiyah Sibay

Aiyah Sibay is a Syrian-American poet, writer, and artist.

Her multimedia work is rooted in the stories of Arab women and their position in the world. Through the combination of photography, textile, and writing, she examines the individual and collective experiences of the feminine and the sensual. Her artistic direction is largely motivated by a desire for others to make contact with the Levant and its diaspora outside the political realm.

Her ongoing project, “Woman or God” will be exhibited in an upcoming exhibit at the Hillyer Gallery in Washington, D.C.

Aiyah takes up her residency at Can Serrat in June 2025.
