Paula “Pola” Amengual (Buenos Aires, 1987) lives and works in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her practice focuses on sculpture and installation. Her works emerge from a speculative approach to arbitrary possibilities of existence, from which alternative universes and temporalities unfold. She is interested in other ways of thinking about the place of the human and the colonial modes of apprehending the world that we have inherited.
She studied Image and Sound Design at the University of Buenos Aires and Theatrical Characterization at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. She trained in ceramics with Pablo Insurralde and in sculpture with Luis Terán and Miguel Harte. She participated in the Manglar artist program with Andrés Labaké and undertook clinical programs with Carlos Gutiérrez.
She has participated in group exhibitions at galleries such as Munar, OhNo, and Acéfala, all in Buenos Aires. In 2024, she presented her first solo exhibition, Como una mancha de aceite, at OhNo Gallery. She has taken part in various artist residencies in different locations across Argentina.
Paula “Pola” Amengual is in residence at Can Serrat in February 2026.
