Hannah Kirmes-Daly is a multi-award-winning visual journalist and artist working at the intersection of art, research, and investigative storytelling. She holds a BA in International Development and South Asian Studies from SOAS, University of London, and an MA in Art in Context from the University of the Arts Berlin (UdK).

Since 2014, she has conducted field-based visual research across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa, developing a practice that combines journalism with mixed-media storytelling. Her work has been published by international outlets including Al Jazeera, the BBC, France24, Deutsche Welle, Open Democracy, and Internazionale. Alongside her journalistic practice, she works as an artist across illustration, graphic design, animation, film, and spatial storytelling. In 2023, she was the British Library’s Guest Artist, and her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Centre for Contemporary Art in Berlin. She has also taught and facilitated workshops at institutions such as the Berlin Biennale. She currently works as a forensic artist on human rights cases.

Hannah Kirmes-Daly is in residence at Can Serrat during October 2026.
