Karl Jansen Gutiérrez

 

Karl Jansen Gutiérrez is an artist focused on drawing, lithography, and screen-printing processes, interested in the creation of identity through an artistic ethnobotany. He holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the National University of Colombia (2023) and has experience in collective exhibitions such as the I Popular Art Salon of Cundinamarca, as part of the XII National and International Festival of Visual and Fine Arts: Matices de Cota (2023). He was a curator for the 24th University Film and Audiovisual Festival: Equinoxio (2022), a mediator and exhibitor with the Tecnopoéticas research group at the Second Latin American Symposium on Media Art (S.L.A.M) – Bogotá Node (2021), a mediator at the First S.L.A.M (2020), and an exhibitor with the Tiesto Roto collective at José Joaquín de las Casas School in Chía, Cundinamarca (2020).

He is currently participating in the FLACSO Contemporary Art Exhibition in Ecuador in the Artist’s Book category (2024).

Karl will be in residence at Can Serrat during January-February 2025.
