Monther Tongue could be the new title for the monthly literature club organized in collaboration with El Bruc’s library. A meeting between writers in residency at Can Serrat, and Carla Jorba, Carlets Estrada y Ramon Jorba.

For this month of May, we decided to try a new format of reading through translation thought as a re-writing process.

Each writers has been collaborating as duo with a member of Can Serrat and two collaborators, Carlets and Ramon. Each member of each duo has chosen a short text to be translated, and related to the expression ‘Mother tongue’.

Jane Flett (UK) >< Sophie Blais (Fr)

Martin Jackson (UK) >< Carles Estrada i Ramon Jorba (Cat)

Klara du Plessis (South Africa) >< Sarah Goodchild Robb(US)><Nihal Mumcu (TU)

On May 16th at the Library all the texts chosen and translated will be read in all writer participants mother tongues. In the international context of Can Serrat, the aim of this workshop is to observe and enjoy the reading and writing of a text through different possible meanings.
