Guadalupe Pérez Recalde was born in Buenos Aires in the winter of 1974. She spent her childhood and teenage years in Quilmes. At the age of twenty-five, after a year-long stay in France, she moved to Buenos Aires and has been living in Lima (Peru) since 2008.
She is a sociologist and a mother. She is passionate about books, radio, and cinema. She writes. She is incapable of opening a book without a pencil in hand. She works as a gender and development consultant and teaches at the university level. Being in the classroom is another one of her passions.
In November 2024, her first poetry collection Del amor sus variaciones (Buenos Aires: Enero editorial) will be published.
She facilitates workshops that combine literature, film, and photography. She has published sociological essays, opinion pieces, and fiction stories. She contributes to the blog Nos vemos los jueves.
Guadalupe is doing her residency at Can Serrat in July 2025.
