Lester Daniel Fernández Ballester

 

Writer. Graduated in Social Communication from the University of Las Tunas.

Works as Public Relations at Radio Victoria. He has published the book of micro-stories: “A Matter of Origin” by the editorial El Taller Blanco Ediciones (Colombia, 2021). He is a compiler and editorial curator of: “La Isla devorada Anthology of Contemporary Cuban Short Stories,” published in co-edition by Editorial Avatares and 9 Editores (Colombia, 2023). His texts appear in anthologies, magazines, and newspapers from Spain, Germany, France, Poland, Cuba, Colombia, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, and Mexico. His work has been translated into Polish, published by the magazine “Pisarze Pl”. He is the winner of the international short story competition “Planeta Cuba” 2015. Mention in the II international mini-story competition “Opening Doors” 2015. Prize in the Grafomanía short story competition 2016, and twice mention in the international mini-story competition “El Dinosaurio,” 2018 and 2022 respectively. He was selected for the XXIV Narrative Techniques Course at the Onelio Jorge Cardoso Literary Training Center. He has worked as a producer on the fiction short film “Ella y el Hotel Miramar.” Financed by the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Industries (ICAIC).

Cultivates the micro-story, the novel, and the short story.
