Lucinda is an illustrator, print maker, and tattoo artist born in Los Angeles currently based in San Francisco.
Their mixed media work and etchings build worlds intended to narrow the gap between the familiar and the imaginary, an atmosphere one might have experienced in a dream, or might have experienced in real life. Driven by a fondness for interpersonal relationships as well as the mysteries that accompany being alive, they investigate the power of touch and kinship, in conversation with atmospheres that move without surrender, such as bodies of water, tunnels, and endless roads, with an overwhelming curiosity for settings that lead to nowhere. Their current practice focuses on graphite texture and gentle mark making intended to capture moments where there’s space for imaginary worlds to form, the past and present to meet, and moments of queer tenderness to be explored. Their connection to and fascination with these themes that their artwork is so saturated with both wonder and odes to the astonishing.
Luciana will be in residence June and July 2026.
