Mercedes Duque Espiau (Seville, 1996) is a writer, anthropologist, and educator. She graduated in Anthropology and Sociology from Goldsmiths University, London. She completed the Master of Creative Writing at the Complutense University of Madrid. She has participated in every writing workshop at Casa Tomada (Seville) that she could. She collaborates with the literary magazine La Elocuente. She is the author of the short story collection Los días breves (III International Short Story Prize Juan Ruiz de Torres, 2023). She has a cat. Her writing delves into the horror of the everyday, the different representations of the feminine, the pain and raw beauty of daily life, the connections between women, and the ways we relate to our bodies.
