Martina de Dios is a journalist and researcher from Spain, originally from La Rioja and based in Barcelona since 2012. She holds a degree in Journalism from the University of the Basque Country, studied screenwriting and film editing at LaBonne in Barcelona, and is currently continuing her training as an audiovisual and live events producer at RTVE.
Born and raised in a family connected to the hospitality industry, she has worked in bars and restaurants throughout her life, shaping a strong sense of class belonging. After settling in Barcelona, she founded two hospitality businesses that combined art and gastronomy.
She has travelled extensively throughout Latin America, collaborating with alternative media and covering social movements such as the fight against Monsanto in Argentina and the Zapatista movement in Chiapas, Mexico.
A passionate cultural worker, avid reader, and self-taught filmmaker, her research interests focus on housing, new relational bonds, and rurality. She is currently developing the project Colectivizar la estafa al sector inmobiliario, through which she explores new lines of thought arising from the intersection of art, education, and housing politics.
Martina de Dios is in residence at Can Serrat in February 2026.
