Flor Martínez

Flor Martínez Yustas (Madrid, 1989) is a social worker, therapist, activist, and writer. She is interested in socially involved literature. Flor is focused on novels that promote empathy among different ages, origins, sexual orientations, and social classes. Her special gift is the ability to connect with people and create familiar environments wherever she is.

She has worked with people who feel lonely due to different reasons (elderly people, LGTBI+, and migrants), and also with refugees and sex workers. She has participated in research projects and activism: regarding sexual and gender dissidents; disability; the creation of inclusive spaces; and reflection on invisible and violent practices within love relationships.

She has won different awards for her writing and also a scholarship “II Beca Residencia de escritura para escritores/as noveles” at La Casa de Belmonte, where she began writing her second novel.

Flor will be in residence at Can Serrat during August 2023.
