Enxhi Mandija

Enxhi Mandija’s practice addresses the tension between different languages coming into close contact, as well as different forms and mediums colliding and collapsing into one another, paying attention to moments of resonance, transmission, and transference.

Operating from a state of precariousness, her work relates to an embodied idea of place, seeking spaces and relationships, both social and ecological, that are continually remade. She explores writing from the perspective of a non-native speaker, using language as a tangible material and as a means to consider how knowledge can be transmitted as uncertainty, beyond linguistic boundaries and separate from institutional spaces.

Enxhi Mandija is undertaking her residency from June 1st, 2024, to July 31st, 2024.
