At the age of 15, she was accepted into a regional arts program at Canterbury High School. There she studied a variety of traditional art mediums in addition to her regular courses. After a few years of school, she began to recognize an inconsistency between her values and her behaviour. This bred a feeling of insecurity and it led her to wonder about the authenticity of the art she was producing. Ruth identifies that moment as a pivotal time from which she began to turn her focus inwards. After completing High School, Ruth moved to Montreal to pursue a BFA at Concordia University in Intermedia and Cyberarts where she continued her internal investigation through video based performance art. She makes artwork to communicate with parts of herself that have been disavowed. Her art is an invitation for the viewer to witness, encounter and experience this process with her. Al cap d&#8217;uns anys d&#8217;escola, va comen\u00e7ar a recon\u00e8ixer una incoher\u00e8ncia entre els seus valors i el seu comportament. Aix\u00f2 li va generar un sentiment d&#8217;inseguretat i la va portar a preguntar-se sobre l&#8217;autenticitat de l&#8217;art que estava produint. Ruth identifica aquest moment com un punt d&#8217;inflexi\u00f3 a partir del qual va comen\u00e7ar a centrar-se en el seu interior. Despr\u00e9s d&#8217;acabar l&#8217;institut, Ruth es va traslladar a Mont-real per a cursar una llicenciatura en Interm\u00e8dia i Ciberartes en la Universitat de Conc\u00f2rdia, on va continuar la seva recerca interna a trav\u00e9s de l&#8217;art de la performance basada en el v\u00eddeo. Realitza obres d&#8217;art per a comunicar-se amb parts de si mateixa que han estat repudiades. El seu art \u00e9s una invitaci\u00f3 perqu\u00e8 l&#8217;espectador sigui testimoni, trobi i experimenti aquest proc\u00e9s amb ella.
