is located in El Bruc, at the foot of Montserrat and only 45 km from Barcelona. This center was founded in 1989 by a group of 11 Norwegian artists*. It has several spaces / workshops and a beautiful natural environment. THE FARMHOUSE: an old manor of 1187m², on the ground floor where we find the hall, a kitchen, dining area, bathrooms an old cellar of 240m², which has been conditioned as work space. On the first floor are 10 rooms for single use and double, three studies 36, 24 and 25 sqm. Outside, an area of 9200 m².

THROUGH THIS OPEN CALL, Can Serrat offers a limited number of grants to visual artists and writers  //
ONE full granted artist is invited for a two-months residency at Can Serrat, including accommodation, workshop spaces, food [the grant does not include travel costs ] - presentation to the public of the work in progress -

THEN, a shortlist of artists are selected for a 50% or 30% grant
cf. "conditions").

Can Serrat, is a rustic house close to an old and mysterious mountain - there is no obligation to write a proposal directly related to Montserrat [but   ] jury appreciates proposals who take in consideration the place and environment - as well as it is excepted from the applicant a position taken in the contemporary art creation

Results are usually out two months after, once we received all the applications
there are no age restrictions or nationality.

CAN SERRAT

Está ubicado en un entorno inmejorable, El Bruc, en la falda de la montaña de Montserrat y a sólo 45 Km de Barcelona. Este centro fue fundado el año 1989 por un grupo de 11 artistas noruegos*. Dispone de varios espacios/ talleres y de un entorno natural impresionante. Con un agradable paseo desde la casa no tardamos en llegar a la parte inferior de una de las zonas más espectaculares de todo el macizo de Montserrat, la zona de Les Agülles -
Comunidad de artistas de todas partes del mundo - integrándose en un pueblo catalán de 2000 habitantes, y  de hecho, a su vida cotidiana -

La MASIA : una antigua casa solariega de 1187m², en la planta inferior donde encontramos el vestíbulo, una cocina, el comedor, zona de baños y una antigua bodega de 240m², que se ha acondicionado como espacio de trabajo polivalente. En la planta primera se encuentran 10 habitaciones de uso individual y dobles, tres estudios polivalentes de 36, 24 y 25 m². El exterior cuenta con una superficie de 9200 m².

A TRAVÉS DE CADA CONVOCATORIA, Can Serrat ofrece un número limitado de becas a artistas visuales //
UN artista esta invitado por una  residencia de dos meses en Can Serrat, incluyendo alojamiento, espacios de taller, comida [la subvención no incluye los gastos de viaje] – presentación al publico del trabajo en curso -

LUEGO se ofrece  becas de 50% y 30% a un número limitado de artistas (cf. "conditions").

Can Serrat, es una casa rústica cerca de una montaña antigua y misteriosa - no hay necesidad de escribir una propuesta directamente relacionada con Montserrat [pero ] el jurado valora las propuestas que toman en cuenta el lugar y el medio ambiente -de la misma forma que se espera conocer la posición del artista, pensamientos y ideas respecto al arte/escritura contemporáneo.

El fallo del jurado se hace público, generalmente, dos meses después, una vez recibidas todas las aplicaciones.
no hay restricciones de edad o nacionalidad.
LA SOLICITUD DEBE ENVIARSE EN INGLÉS (jurado internacional).
[ SI ] eres seleccionado, tienes un año para venir desde el momento en que recibas tu carta de aceptación.
